Reflation is fun. But eventually, reflation will drive everyone to madness. Witness the pain already endured by shorts as American indexes not only rose heroically off the March lows, but have now failed twice to correct that rally. The first rejection of a sell-off took place in June. The most recent rejection was of course last week. And it was indeed spectacular. With breakouts occurring across many markets. However, while the stock equity shorts are feeling the pain now, they will soon be joined by borrowers and consumers of food and energy, should reflation continue.
